The SFR SCCA Season Opener was held at Infineon Raceway on April 4, 2004. The Group 8 SM race started Sunday at 1pm with an impressive 55 car field! Mike Courtney (#76 SM sponsored by "Car Is For Sale") took the lead after the first lap to win the Season Opener. Marc Kirberg (#75 SM sponsored by Marin Motorsports) took second after battling with Courtney the whole race. Kirberg set a new race record with a blazing lap time of 1:55.782 and more impressively set a new qualifying record of 1:54.619. The battle for 3rd and 4th was also a close one with Justin Hall (#12 SM sponsered by Off Camber Racing) taking 3rd followed closely by Tommy Olivier (#10 SM sponsered by Marin Brewing Company). Results are now available on the EVENTS page. The next SFR SCCA Regional race is at Thunderhill Raceway on April 24 & 25.
